Privy Silver Maple Leaf coins with Zodiac markings were first introduced in 1998 with the Year of the Tiger. The circulation of these coins was limited to only 25,000 annually. The series ran for a full 12 years through the zodiac and represented all the animals on the lunar calendar.

One of the most important Privy Silver Maple Leaf collections introduced in recent years is the Wild Canada series. This collection was available from the Royal Canadian Mint from 2016 to 2018 and featured six distinctive privy on the reverse field of the coins. The collection features images of the animal species found on the coins of the Canadian Wildlife Collection. The Wild Canadian Series had a limited edition of 50,000 Privy Silver Maple Leafs per inscribed design release.
